Developed in early 70’s by crossing four existing breeds (Targhee, Dorset, Rambouillet, Finnsheep) to create a breed that would provide farmers with a sheep that provided an excellent carcass and a fine, high quality wool. Wool is fine (22 -29 microns) and durable. Staple length 3 - 5 inches with visible, well developed crimp.
